Per La Mente’s “Cocktails with Creators” series highlights unique artists and the drinks they love. In this session at Paste Studios, singer/songwriter Juan Soria serenades us with his song “Until the End,” a tale of love and happiness inspired by his wife and manager, Sara. Creative mixologist Matt Levy conjures a delectable spice-layered Fernet-Branca and bourbon cocktail that bears the same name.

Soria, who hails from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and now makes his home in Brooklyn, plays folk-rock with a bit of slide guitar and sings in both Spanish and English. He released his first album, Erase una vez, in 2016, and his second is forthcoming in spring 2018.

Enjoy this Fernet-Branca cocktail through every chord and long after.

Until the End

½ oz. Fernet-Branca

2 oz. bourbon

½ oz. rich simple syrup

¼ oz. allspice dram
